It installs threaded inserts in thin material so bolts can be used where tapping the base material directly is impractical.
Typical applications include sheet metal, automotive panels, metal tubing, enclosures, brackets and general fabrication projects.
Match the mandrel and nosepiece to the thread of the insert. Do not force mismatched components.
Thread the insert onto the mandrel, place it squarely in the prepared hole, pull to set it, then reverse the tool to release the mandrel.
A test piece helps confirm hole size, insert fit and setting force before working on the finished part.
Remove the battery before changing mandrels, nosepieces or servicing the tool, and wear suitable eye protection during use.
